Planar is a two-story, 72,242-square-foot office building situated on 5.19 acres in Portland, Ore. Birtcher Development & Investments was introduced to the property in 1991 by former investor, AmberJack, Ltd.
Groundbreaking for the development took place in May 2001 and construction was completed in 2002. The project commenced at the beginning of the dot-com recession and represented one of the best rent comparable statistics.
Birtcher Development & Investments successfully negotiated a 10-year pre-lease commitment to build the property as the corporate headquarters for Planar Systems, Inc. However, the building was built to easily re-tenant in the future.
